Computer cables and plugs attach to 3d text title Connect. Concept for connecting people and things via the internet and social media.

There are a number of people in my life that I enjoy being with and speaking to but don’t always have the time to connect. Some live a far distance but even for those close by it can be difficult to carve out time that works for both our calendars.

And although I may not be spending time with these people they are frequently on my mind. I sometimes wonder how they are doing, or I think of them when I am doing something I know they would enjoy, or may be recalling a happy memory that we shared.

With technology today it seems that it would be so easy to keep in touch but life sometimes gets in the way. I try to text or email the person if I don’t have the opportunity to call them just to let them know I am thinking of them, but even that doesn’t always happen. When it does, I know it makes me feel good that I reached out and hopefully the feeling is felt by the receiver. I know that when someone reaches out to me, even if it’s briefly it brightens my day.

A text or email may seem impersonal but I would rather a quick reach out than none at all. I have the best of intentions to call people but things sometimes get in the way.

Also if it’s been a long time since you’ve spoken to someone it may seem uncomfortable to reach out to them. I know I have felt this way and others have shared that feeling with me as well. So much time has passed that you then are embarrassed and hesitate to call. I encourage you that no matter what length of time, reach out. You may just find out that the other person felt exactly the same way.

So in this busy time, take a moment to stop. Text, email, or call someone and let them know you are thinking of them. Help bring a smile into someone’s day.
